Biofuel Trial on MV SDTR Dora

SDTR Marine • Dec 28, 2023

14th December 2023 marks another important milestone in SDTR’s journey towards a sustainable maritime industry. SDTR is collaborating with Cargill to pioneer a trial voyage, using Biofuel B24 VLSFO for her vessel MV SDTR Dora in Singapore. This is our collective effort to reduce carbon footprint and greenhouse gases within the maritime sector.

We partake in this Bio-Fuel trial voyage highlights our unwavering dedication to innovation and sustainability, aligning with the industry’s increasing focus on cleaner energy solutions in pursuit of sustainable fuel alternatives.

Besides benefiting the environment, Biofuel has lower sulfur content than traditional marine fuels, leading to reduced sulfur dioxide emissions. Additionally, they produce fewer particulate matter emissions, which can improve air quality and reduce health risks for ship crews and coastal communities.

It has always been SDTR’s goal and mission to innovate in the maritime industry to decarbonize and be sustainable in addressing the global challenge of climate change. We have always believed that no matter the effort “big” or “small”, every single effort counts to provide a sustainable future for future generations to come.
