SDTR 2026 China Seafarers Conference Successfully Held in Dalian
From 21–22 May 2026, the SDTR 2026 China Seafarers Conference was successfully held in Dalian. Seafarer representatives, business partners, and industry experts from across China gathered in the coastal city to discuss industry trends, exchange safety management experiences, and explore seafarer development and the future of the company under the theme “Adapting Through Change, Forging Innovation; Acting with Integrity, Advancing Toward the Future.”
Today, the international shipping industry is facing unprecedented change. Global trade patterns continue to evolve, geopolitical risks remain dynamic, uncertainties surrounding global green decarbonization policies persist, and new technologies and regulations are emerging at an accelerating pace. In the face of these changes, shipping companies must not only respond proactively to external challenges but also continuously strengthen their own capabilities.
The essence of “forging innovation through adaptation” is not pursuing change for its own sake, but continuously refining professional skills, reinforcing safety awareness, and raising operational standards amid a changing environment. For seafarers, this means honing technical expertise and maintaining strict discipline; for companies, it means continuously optimizing management practices while steadfastly upholding safety as a non-negotiable priority.
The conference featured distinguished speakers, including representatives from the Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration, China Classification Society, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, AVIC International Leasing, the Swedish Club P&I Association, and other senior industry experts. They delivered insightful presentations on topics such as crew management, safe vessel operations, Port State Control (PSC) inspections, newbuilding management, transportation of special cargoes, and risk management. The exchange of expertise across different sectors provided valuable guidance for both seafarer career development and the safe operation of vessels.

During the conference, SDTR also organized seafarer forums and team-building activities to hear directly from frontline personnel and better understand their needs. We firmly believe that seafarers are a company’s most valuable asset and the cornerstone of safe vessel operations. Respecting, caring for, and developing seafarers is not only a management responsibility but also the foundation for sustainable long-term growth.

At the appreciation dinner held on the evening of 21 May, SDTR presented awards to outstanding seafarers, exemplary vessels, and valued partners who have made significant contributions to the safe operation of the fleet. Behind every award lies a story of dedication, responsibility, and perseverance, reflecting our shared commitment to growth and progress.

Looking ahead, SDTR will continue to uphold its values of “Care, Respect, Trust, and Collaboration”, maintaining safety as its foundation and seafarers as its core focus. Together with all partners, we will continue moving forward toward a safer, more professional, and more sustainable future.
