Jinling Shipyard in China has completed the construction of the fifth in a series of ten 82,000 DWT Kamsarmax bulk carriers for SDTR Marine.

The vessel was named “SHANDONG FU DE” and delivered to SDTR Marine at Nanjing Jinling Shipyard on April 17 2018.

Key leaders of the newbuilding project attended the delivery ceremony including Tu Xiao Ping, General Manager of China Changjiang National Shipping; Jiang Qing Hua, Deputy Party Committee Secretary; Ge Biao, Deputy General Manager; Dong Hai, Executive Director of SDTR Marine; Fan Qiang, Vice President of the China Classification Society; Jiang Fu Hai, General Manager of Jinling Shipyard; and Gao De Hui, General Manager of SDTR Marine.

Jiang Fu Hai, General Manager of Jinling Shipyard, said: “I am delighted with the successful delivery of “SHANDONG FU DE” and the support from both the vessel’s owner and China Classification Society is highly appreciated. Despite the sluggish shipping market that has caused an adjustment to the shipbuilding sector in recent years, the three parties (shipbuilder, ship owner, and classification society) have worked very effectively together to make this delivery possible and I look forward to further collaboration in the future.”

Fan Qing, Vice President of the China Classification Society, commented: “The 82,000 DWT Kamsarmax is one in a series of upgraded Panamax bulk carriers. The vessel fully complies with the latest Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), Ballast Water Management Convention and Noise Reduction regulations, with excellent energy saving and low carbon emission features.

Jinling Shipyard and the China Classification Society have collaborated many times over the years and provided valuable suggestions on ship classification developments. The China Classification Society provides shipyards with high-quality and efficient technical support services and is pleased to deepen the cooperation with Jinling Shipyard and SDTR Marine.”
