Safety

SDTR operates in an environment where risks are managed and that work does not impact on crew’s health and well-being. Workplace safety is acknowledged and innovative strategies are developed to advance workplace protections. By integrating safety into these sustainability strategies, organizational performance is enhanced and long term economic viability is ensured.

QUALSHIP 21

On January 1, 2001, the Coast Guard implemented an initiative, QUALSHIP 21, to identify high-quality ships, and provide incentives to encourage quality operations. Most vessels from SDTR's fleet are awarded with the QUALSHIP 21 certification as they have demonstrate the highest commitment to quality and safety through the highest level of compliance with International standards, United States law and regulation are rewarded by the program.

Crew

SDTR strongly values the key role played by its crew and places a huge emphasis on their psychological wellbeing. All crew on SDTR's vessels have free access to the Internet, allowing them to stay connected with their family and friends.

Having the ease of communication can make seafaring attractive and bearable for crews as they will be part of their social circle, leading to smooth and safe vessel operations, creating a positive and better environment for crews.
