Digitalization

Transitioning towards digitalization and automation, SDTR is building its vision of being an interconnected and eco-friendly maritime company. Automated data collection is done through digital platforms, whereby data is gathered for decision making, enhancing operational efficiency of its fleet.

Smartship

To address the digital integration of ships and operations, digital platforms like DOSS (supported by "SDARI") and CEON (supported by "MAN") are adopted.

Data collection is fully automated directly via sensors (minimizing human input error) that were installed during shipbuilding, which are then used for Artificial Intelligence (AI) data analysis and research. Relying on its ship-shore integrated management, SDTR is able to improve management efficiency through real-time monitoring and evaluating energy efficiency optimization of its ships, reducing fuel costs around 2-6%; and is able to grasp the live performance of machinery onboard to anticipate potential machinery issues, ensuring operational safety.

Through the use of Augmented Reality (AR), SDTR is able to deal with increasingly complex maintenance procedures. When a maintenance job has been completed, the information is automatically uploaded to the system via Wi-Fi in the engine room, simplifying administrative procedures.

VESON IMOS Platform

SDTR continues to advance its digitalization goals through the successful implementation of the Veson IMOS Platform (VIP). By achieving seamless connectivity and dataflow through cloud-based solution, silos could be eliminated, increasing the team’s ability to work collaboratively for greater effectiveness and efficiency.

SDTR is also testing and exploring the use of big data and artificial intelligence to improve vessel navigation safety and optimizing energy usage for vessel operations. More
